Performs manual packaging operations to fill, mark, label, band, tie, pack and/or wrap containers with products and materials. Observes operations and inspects packaged items for conformance with specifications. Tallies, weighs, transports, stacks and arranges products and packaged containers. May obtain and sort items to be packaged and replenish packaging supplies.
Manually package sample blinds and small parts including literature for shipment. (90%)
-Visually inspect blinds, small parts and literature for defects.
-Pick and pack blinds and small parts including literature for shipments to customer and sales reps.
-Make decisions about the correct packaging materials and sizes for the shipments.
-Make kits for various stores according to the work orders provided.
-Work with FRN and VISION IS./Ability to read work orders.
-Apply required labels to packages prior to shipment and fill all required paperwork.
-Pack all POP and sampling needed for Customers rollouts.
-Update sample books including putting new labels, swatches, and discontinued stickers in them.
-Meet all ship dates.
-Be able to float around and multitask.
Maintain clean and safe work environment. (10%)
-Follow established procedures to maintain work environment in a neat and orderly condition.
-Perform minor maintenance on equipment and tools. Interact with Toolroom and Maintenance Departments on equipment and tool repair and development of new equipment and tools.
-Follow safety policies and procedures. Attend regularly-scheduled safety meetings.
-Attend daily huddles and other meetings to ensure smooth flow of communication.
-Come up with process improvements with the work area or the departments.
Education and Experience:
Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent; 3 months Manufacturing experience
