Position Summary:  

The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily operations of the HR function at the Waukegan manufacturing facility. This role provides hands-on support to associates and leaders in areas including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, policy administration, attendance, payroll adjustments, and HR reporting. The HR Generalist partners closely with operations, safety, and finance to ensure a consistent, compliant, and engaging associate experience aligned with Springs Window Fashions’ “Best Experience” culture. 

 

Education and Experience: 

 

Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field required. 
  • Minimum of 1 year of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing or similar fast-paced environment. 

 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations (FMLA, ADA, EEO, wage and hour, etc.). 
  • Experience with HRIS and timekeeping systems (ADP, Workforce Manager, or similar). 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels. 
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. 

 

Job Duties: 

  • Serve as the first point of contact for associates and supervisors regarding HR-related questions, policies, and processes. 
  • Coordinate hourly and temporary staffing needs in partnership with local staffing agencies and hiring managers. 
  • Manage onboarding and orientation for new associates, ensuring accurate completion of I-9s, HRIS setup, and badge issuance. 
  • Maintain associate records and process status changes, promotions, and terminations in ADP/WFM. 
  • Support attendance tracking, corrective actions, and disciplinary documentation in line with company policy. 
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly HR reports (headcount, temp usage, turnover, etc.). 
  • Coordinate payroll adjustments and manage time keeping system (Workforce Manager) 
  • Support in organizing associate engagement activities, communications, and recognition programs. 
  • Support compliance efforts related to EEO, FMLA, ADA, and other applicable labor regulations. 
  • Partner with safety and operations to ensure a safe and inclusive work environment. 
  • Participate in investigations and provide documentation support as directed by the HR Manager. 

 

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual base for this position is reasonably expected to be between $50,000 and $65,000.  Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

 

Benefits: The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance,  vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan with up to 5% company match of eligible contributions, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, paid sick time at an amount that meets or exceeds all local requirements, fifteen days (pro-rated for 2024 based on start date) paid vacation time, eleven paid holidays per year, and one paid volunteer day off per year.
