Job Summary:                             

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Driver to join our SunSetter team in Texas. The CDL Driver will be responsible for locally transporting goods (to and fro Manufacturing site and warehouse) efficiently and on schedule, ensuring all deliveries are completed according to safety standards and company guidelines. This role requires excellent driving skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and willingness to do warehouse activities as required. Standard hours for this role will be 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, however there may be Overtime required especially during the high peak season (Mar to Aug) including weekends. 

Responsibilities:                                                     

• Operate company vehicles, including heavy trucks, to transport goods to specified locations in a safe and timely manner.
• Inspect and maintain vehicles before and after each trip, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and other essential vehicle functions.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is secure and protected during transit.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules, with a focus on punctuality and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and safety standards, including hours of service and vehicle inspection logs.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, reporting any delays, accidents, or other issues promptly.
• Assist in routine maintenance of vehicles to ensure longevity and safety of operations.

Other Considerations:

• Truck is a single axle.
• Type of movements would be with a 53 ft trailer. (Yard truck movements)
• Local movements from 3PL’s. (short distance)
• Daily movement ranges from 20-30 during high peaks season (Mar to Aug).
• Daily movement low peak season would be 1-2 (Sept to Feb).
• Candidate will be performing WH activities as needed assigned by his supervisor. The percentage could vary based on the business needs.
• High peak season. Driving 80 % -WH 20%.
• Low peak season. Driving 10% - WH 90 %

Qualifications:                           

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) - Class A or B required.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a CDL driver preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and load/unload cargo.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to follow directions.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
