Job Purpose: This role would be reporting to the Materials Manager. Responsible to maximize service performance while minimizing inventory investment on select product groups. This will be achieved by a combination of detailed planning in association with mid-level planning.
- Create and execute purchase orders based on MRP recommendations.
- Utilize internal systems to proactively identify and communicate key drivers and proposed solutions to service and inventory issues.
- Expedite critical or past due orders and revise purchase order dates.
- Help maintain system accuracy, including lead-time, minimums, current supplier information, and current purchase order data with cross functional teams.
- Process interplant branch transfers as required.
- Balance supply and demand in a manner that achieves the financial and service objectives of the company.
- Collaborate with internal and external Customers and Suppliers to prioritize and deliver products and services that meet or exceed the business needs.
- Work with cross functional teams such as Engineering, Accounting, Sales, and Project Management to resolve issues quickly.
- Work with Scheduling team to ensure materials arrive on time according to the customer needs.
- Work closely with the Quality Control team to resolve vendor quality issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Provide monthly forecasts to assigned vendors.
- Develop a business relationship via conference calls to discuss open orders, issues, and set priorities.
- Holding monthly meetings with key vendors to understand capacity/constraints.
- Participate in various cross functional meetings such as ECO Meetings, ERP implementation, product change overs, etc.
- Prepare and analyze various inventory control reports requested by management.
- Procure MRO items at appropriate levels and price.
- Special projects as assigned.
