Job Purpose:
Manage and schedule materials to insure the department's success in service, quality, and production. Verify for accuracy and make corrections daily as the process requires. Perform data entry responsibilities. Create schedule for associates in an 8-hour shift. Work all required over time. 

Job Duties:

  • Monitor daily shipments and workload/service levels.
  • Monitor order status changes, material holds and expedited work orders.
  • Monitor material usage; work with other departments to replenish materials needed, make corrections to bills to ensure work orders match what is being produced.
  • Provide leadership and coverage on the different work stations.
  • Perform daily data entry functions.
  • Provide feedback to Leads and associates as to variances found and proper procedures.
  • Research material variances and find solutions to these issues.
  • Must have 4 hours of earned labor per day operating in addition to coordinating materials.
  • Check accuracy of tickets and skids being shipped out of the department.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum - High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years manufacturing or receiving experience.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong experience in receiving and solving discrepancies a plus.
  • Experience overseeing and providing direction and training a plus.
  • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, detailed oriented, have good organizational skills and be able to prioritize.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact well with other associates.
  • Solid computer skills - FRN/D365/Vision/Word/Excel software.
  • Must be safety and quality conscious.
  • Looks for innovative ways to streamline work processes across the division and involves stakeholders. Mechanical aptitude a plus.
  • Understanding SWF team structure, roles and responsibilities.
  • Must be willing to travel; must have or be able to obtain a passport.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual, ability to speak Spanish a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills. Clearly defines and utilizes processes in daily work.
  • Uses project plan and project schedule methodology.
  • Knows SFW team structure, roles and responsibilities.
  • Integrates process methodology into daily work; MPI, QAT, 5S, 6D, Q@S etc.
  • Identifies gaps using tools such as Lean Principles, Baldridge criteria, WI Forward Award criteria, GPTW, IDP etc.
  • Establishes forums to share best practices.
  • Uses department and company scorecard and other metrics.
  • Measures own work to plan and reports out at a micro and macro level.

Physical Abilities:

  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently.
  • Operate forklift, Big Joe and/or pallet jacks. 
  • Must be able to stand or walk for 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to occasionally climb ladders.
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend and work overhead. 
  • Must wear all required PPE.
