Job Summary

 

The Purpose of this job is to manage and direct associates in the Warehouse, Shipping and Receiving Departments so we can satisfy the customer every time.  The Warehouse Supervisor is required to ensure that all Safety, Quality, Associate Development and CI goals are reached.  This is achieved by working cooperatively with the Management Team and by holding themselves and associates in their area accountable for bottom line results.  Each employee is tasked with creating Best Experiences for their coworkers.  This is defined as creating an environment where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve its objectives.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervision of all Warehouse functions; Receiving, Shipping, Production Hardware, Cycle Counting
  • Develop Plan and Execute on Cross training and development of assigned associates
  • Oversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. Determines space requirements and position of shipment in trucks
  • Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications
  • Interface with carrier representatives to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials
  • Confer and correspond with customer service to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications
  • Prepare 100-150 shipments per day – rate the shipments via web-based tariff system
  • Directs movement of shipments from storage and work areas to shipping platform. Compiles records of unfilled orders. Posts weight and shipping charges
  • Determine best shipping method – small package; LTL; resulting in the most cost-efficient method for our customers
  • Direct recording of shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes
  • Follow and ensure all OSHA Regulations are followed
  • Utilization of Root Cause Analysis to define problems, Fishbone and 5-Why
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

 

Education and Experience

  • 5-7 years Materials Management, Warehousing and Shipping/Receiving experience in a high-volume progressive manufacturing environment.
  • 1-3 years Supervisory Experience
  • High School Diploma (or GED) or Associates degree
  • Essential requirement strong experience in developing and documenting Warehouse Procedures.
  • Supervising a diverse multi-shift work force in a disciplined organization.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management,
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with good follow-up skills.      
  • Ability to achieve results and overcome obstacles
  • Exposure to working in a LEAN Manufacturing Environment
  • Hands on knowledge with MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of computerized and web-based freight rating systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
