Job Purpose:

2nd  Shift Position - General Labor Position.  Will train.     Provide general entry-level unskilled manual labor to any and all areas of wood processing operations. Perform or help with job operation in the facility. Learn & perform basic operations to be able to assist and fill-in where needed.

 

 

 

Requirements

2nd  Shift Position - General Labor Position

 

Opportunity to cross-train and advance.

 

Must be able to stand for ten hours, bend, twist, lift 50 lbs., walk up and down stairs, kneel occaisionally, and do general manual labor.

 

Must be drug free (this includes all marijuana).  Must have High School Diploma or GED.

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Minimum Education Required:High School diploma or equivalent Minimum Job-Related Experience Required:NONE - WILL TRAIN

* Follow set safety procedures

* Team player

* Set priorities

* Be flexible in job assignments

* Hand/eye coordination

* Basic computer skills

 

Ability to meet job productivity expectations Ensures quality by:

* Using project plan and project schedule methodology 

* Clearly defining and utilizing processes in daily work

* Understanding SFW team structure, roles and responsibilities

* Looking for innovative ways to streamline work processes across the division and involves stakeholders

* Identifying gaps using tools 

* Establishing forums to share best practices

* Using department and company scorecard and other metrics

* Measuring own work to plan and reports out at a micro and macro level

 

 

* Be flexible in job assignments AND WILLING TO MOVE POSITIONS THROUGHOUT THE DAY.

* Able to stand for long periods of time while lifting, sorting, handling product with both hands

* Able to visually inspect product for defects - knots, cracks, etc.
